05/12/2004 - Brook Farm Launch Site

Hi all,

It was a very mild day for December with light winds, occasional blue sky and a bit damp under foot.
I arrived at Brook Farm at approximately 10-30 and had a conversation with the farmer, passing the time of day as one does and he suggested we use the fields by the hut. By the time I got back to my car John Walker rolled up and out to the flying site we drove. I deicide where the launch pads would be and John Walker set his pad up some 50 yds from the hut. John had spotted Phill C coming across the track, then we lost him (we think he went ride somewhere on the farm). Andrew B set up his brewing gear and tea was soon being consumed, by this time Phill C had eventually found us. Soon after there was a rush of flyers arriving, Pete Lander had a wonderful collection of monocopters, daddy long legs, tri copter and a pyramid. Then there was a young man called Harry Jones, he had made a Bi copter and he had a good day's flying.

Andrew B he also had a good day, Mark and Matthew Harrold sent a few rockets up which made a nice change for Matthew as he's been very engrossed with his University Project, Phil's monocopter MK111 just could not get the altitude to beat Pete Landers monocopter 24. Better luck next time Phil.

Dave B finely got one up as he was busy with MAP duties etc. John Walker had the best flight of the day for me on his scratch built E- Daddy. It was perfect burn and deployment well done. 3-30pm had come all to soon and so I handed over the RSOing to Dave B to end the day's flying.

And to close the year flying down, I wished the Farmer and family all members a Merry Christmas.
