Lots of great flights, the Milson site looks like its going to be very popular with the UK rocket flying community.

A big thank you to Congreve Rockets for coming along and supporting the club by gifting us motors to fly (all 29 mm dia - G160-6 single use flown in Mark Perman's Quad 4 (long walk to recover that one) Paul Lavin flew a couple of reloadable H's in Lavin's Lav. and Quad 4 flew again this time with a reloadable H100std with an 8 sec delay - see photos). Congreve also static fired a 75mm dia L600 which was very impressive and a real crowd pleaser.

Thanks to Sean Arrowsmith, Ray Hancox and Mark Perman for RSO'ing on the day, Tracey Fowler for looking after flyer registration, Alan Meredith for the catering side and acting as fire marshal.

Mark

What a great day. Our first offical club launch from Milson (Last time was just a small test session). Also to help us celebrate, Congreve came along and did a wonderful Static test of one of their new L motors (thanks Congreve). The sound was very impressive from over 90m away.
I was also lucky to get hold of the new Congreve motor casings, probably the first retail customer in the UK. I now have a shiny 120ns (G) case, a 180ns (H) case and a foward and an aft enclosure.
We suffered no lose of rockets to the gods and flying was good and steady throught the day. I even got to try my Coffee Cup (mkII) as a trial for the Black Knights Rocket Challenge next week at Brook Farm.

Sean

I got there 1100 hrs'ish to see Mark, Sean and Chris Jones (our landlord ) having coffee. Missed out again!!.
Mark & Sean had marked out the Launch Pad area with cones etc.
Apart from having to get there, it really is nice to be flying from close cut grass again. Got the table set up and preped a small rocket to see how the wind was higher up with a  A6-4, but she didn't go high enough to get a real look at what the wind was doing, so reloaded with A6-5 that was much better. By this time Alan and Congreve Rockets had arrived with other's turning up at slow trickle. Tracey was taking the flying fee's, Alan had got the tea & coffee going, Mark was RSO on duty first with Sean helping out, it was nice really as there was three RSO's, so we all could fly some rockets, we had to stop flying for a short time as visitors landed in a small plane, a few more rockets then it was time for the plane to take off again, so we stood down for a short time, with the plane gone we got onto flying, Congreve Rockets put on a static display and what a burn that was, what a motor.
There was some very good flights, Mark won longest walk from the pad and I think Sean had nearest to the pad, apart from me taking my rocket glider home in a plastic bag!! I had very good days flying and with what I could see every one else did too. Thanks to every one there. the rockets I flew on the day:-
Zenith on a A6-4, Zenith on a C6-5 , Bits & Bobs on a D12-5,  Polaris Estes model on a C6-5 then a scratch built Polaris 57ins on a Pro38 1Gr, Maniac on a D12-5,  VMX2 on a C 6-5 which finished up ina plastic bag, and the last one was the Juno Jupiter on a cluster of 4x D12-5s.
A good day!!

Ray  or  Hank.

A great day was had on sunday 6/7/03 at milson. I got there about 12.00 and flying was up and running. I got all my pad's out and started to prep my mean machine, that was my first one of the day. Next, well it was Ray not me who stared this  CHAFF flying (I meant to say rocket gliders), this is when it all
stared to go the bad side of bad. Ray's VX went up to say 50 feet and then down
51 feet making a nice head stone for a rocket grave, so I got my glider out, prep it on a B 6 2 thinking this is going to show them!!. I put it on the pad 5 4 3 2 1. It went off like a man with his feet on fire, straight in to the ground it must have got to 3 feet up and then 4 feet down the ejection fired and the motor casing went further than the plane. Next up to have a go was Paul Lavin, he had two go's at this with no luck. He broke his on the way to the pad. Next to have a go was Ian Fowler,  he walked up to the pad as cool as you like, put his chaff machine (rocket glider) on it and with 1 whoosh it was air born and what good flight. Over 30 sec for it to come down. Nice one Ian .
I few most of my fleet with good result's my inalator got stuck up a tree, thank's to all who help to get it out. Andrew, Alex Bevan, Jenny Lavin you know who you are. You all have my thanks, so you see my day was full.

Before I go, I must say a big thanks to Paul Carter and Congreve Rrocket's  for the FREE motors that was given out on the day. If you have any left can i have one next time (tounge in cheek mode).

Alan
