We got to the flying site about 10-45, Alan was already there with his family so we had a quick chat, then
off to mark out the range. With the pads where set out I got Robert to prep up my rocket that I use for wind
direction, as it turned out the wind was much stronger at the higher altitudes.
Mike L started setting up only, only to find he had forgotten something. Luckily he only lives close by but he did leave his wife sitting in a chair so he wouldn't lose his car parking space.

Robert H had a good flight with his Screamer on a D12-5, Polaris on a B6-4 and Storm Caster on a D12-5 (a very good flight but on recovery the chute got tangled up with slight damage to the body tube) so Dave B gave him an helping hand with the repairs. All repairs done, it was prep up time again with a D12-5 and a smaller parachute. Got a very good flight with a long walk to get it back.

Ian F had a good flight with his first rocket called Singularity on a H motor, next was his Silver Lining (a dual deployment) on an H also. Good straight flight but only the drogue chute deployed which made an hard landing with no real damage just a bruise on the body tube.

Mike L first flight with his Scratch Silver on a cluster of D12-3, one of the motors did not fire the ejection charge and deployed the parachute which resulted in a failed launch. His next was the Fire Flash on a C5-3, scratch built with streamer recovery, then came his Alpha 3 on a cluster of D12-3 (good flight but broke a fin on landing), but not so good with his Ionizer which flew on a C5-3 but shock cord parted, so nose cone and chute went who knows where. He also had a couple of good flights with his Bull Pup.

For the few flyers we had, it was very pleasant day. The weather was good and warm and the kids really enjoyed taking part and helping out with our hobby, so thanks to you all.

Ray  or  Hank.
