"A Black Knights Tale"

Mel and I had arranged to be there on Friday afternoon, to my great surprise he was already there, tent erected. With the help of more hands mine was erected as the wind was very strong by this time.
Mel had wonder off only to come strolling back with the most important ingredient "the Red Wine", so with chairs in place and with that all important POP it was down to some R & R. Mind you time was getting on 4 o'clock (1600 Hr’s) when someone mentioned food, so off to Burger Bills so we thought!, only to be told that he had sold up and a Lady had taken over, so off we went only to be confronted with a menu of Beef Burger bap or Cheese Bap or as my mate puts it Rabbit Meat (Salad Sandwich . Disappointed we ordered cheese burgers and of cause we asked what was on for Breakfast to be told "I don’t know". We told her that most of the lads have full breakfast’s and then we where told that she would be closing down at 6-30/7pm. What no supper! Mel gave her the nick name of (Burger Lily). By this time bottle number two was in the waste bin , so Mel got his Vintage Boxed Red Wine out. Now we have drunk some Plonk in our time and I can only describe our comments as B!! ***!!!***!!! It even left my glass stained Red so it was put back into the cellar to mature a little more i.e. the evening section and you might say. Why were we not Flying Rockets! well the reason was the range had been closed due to high winds. Alan of Apollo11 and Sean our webmaster turned up and with knowledge of the food situation they went to the pub for some grub (gammon & chip’s) I believe.
So as the evening got into full swing Mel got the box wine out again and Mel was giving it to all and I must say that most people had the same opinion as Mel and myself. But there's always one isn’t there, this one goes by the name of Darren, but poor Darren could not turn his back for 10 second and Mel had refilled his glass. His guts must be made of stainless steel.
It was a long hard day, so to bed came early (11-30'ish to be serenaded by an all night buzz saw, you have just got to sleep only to be awakened by the birds morning chorus, so to breakfast on a sunny day with very little wind! Mel went to the range early to do some RSO’ing, as for me I went on a shopping spree in preparation for Flamer, hoping to get at lest an H-110 ss,-- I-287 ss,--J-280ss into the air weather permitting. So with all the part’s from Pete’s Rockets, Rockets & Things and Apo11o all done and dusted I got a lift to the range, it’s no flying for me today as my leg ‘s playing up. By this time Mel was flying some very good flight’s, some very spectacular flight’s, some going, horizontal and ballistic and one of the best which was being videoed but for got to take lens cover off! pity really as it was very spectacular, after all this excitement it was time for a cupper.
By the time I’d had a wash and brush up, tidy the tables up and Mel got back and did his clean up it was time for a meal, so off we went to see what burger Lil had on the menu to be confronted by an aroma of old burnt fat, so Alan, Sean, Mel, John and myself off for a pub meal so five of us piled into my car with Alan at the wheel we arrived to find two more Black Knights there. What with mouth watering Blue stakes ,Gammon & chips and a full glass of ale what more can one ask, someone said something that reminded me I’d forgotten the Malt whisky so Mel went across to the store which was opposite the pub. He had a large surprise to see a shop full of Rockerteers purchasing there evening comforts ( booze )
How can I forget this! Matthew and his Dad arrived Saturday morning, with everyone either up at the range or in the shops, come in with his new project but be it far from me to say but I think they should get a low loader with crane. I can say this no one is going to run away with it being that heavy. I believe he his going to bring it to the next Tamworth meeting
It was a good turn out for the Black Knights so to Matthew & his Dad, David, Phill, Ian, Sean, Alan of Apo11o, Mel and me (Ray or Hank) and a big thank you to all who attended it is got to be close to the biggest numbers there so a big thanks to all the shops UKRA committee and last but not lest is to the fireworks team brilliant.

Ray or Hank
